This track is a standout piece from their joint album Jawaya Jathum, which artfully blends contemporary sounds with rich cultural elements.
Duog Dala, which translates to “Come Back Home” in Dholuo, is a poignant narrative that delves into themes of longing, identity, and the profound connection to one’s roots. The song tells the story of a woman who marries a foreigner and, after a prolonged absence, returns home only to find that her parents have passed away. This narrative is brought to life through Winyo’s emotive vocals and Fancy Fingers’ masterful guitar work, creating a soundscape that is both haunting and beautiful.
