Tanzanian singer and actress Marianne ‘Mimi Mars’ Mdee, widely known for her hit song “Till I Die,” recently opened up about her love life and her ongoing journey toward marriage at 32.

Mimi, the younger sister of former Bongo Flava star Vanessa Mdee, expressed her regret about not yet tying the knot, revealing that past relationships with men who weren’t serious played a role in delaying her decision to settle down.

In a candid interview with a Tanzanian entertainment outlet, Mimi reflected on her romantic experiences and how they shaped her current outlook. “I haven’t gotten married yet because I spent time with men who weren’t right for me. They wasted my time,” she shared. “I believe in seizing the opportunity when I meet the right person. If that happens, I won’t waste time.”

Mimi has always been open about her dating choices. In a 2019 interview, she revealed that past heartbreaks led her to set firm boundaries on her relationships, initially deciding to avoid dating famous men or Tanzanians.

“At first, I said I would never date a famous or Tanzanian man,” she said. “But as time passed, I became open to the idea of a man from outside Tanzania.”

Her love life took a turn when she began dating rising artist Marioo in 2020. Their relationship, which seemed promising, soon faced challenges. A viral video of Mimi swimming with Diamond Platnumz sparked rumors, creating tension between her and Marioo.

Despite the drama, the couple tried to work through their issues, even collaborating on a song, “La La.” However, they eventually parted ways.

Marioo later explained that their breakup wasn’t due to any external involvement, but rather the natural struggles that arise in relationships. “Sometimes, things don’t work out no matter how much you try,” he said.
