Afrobeats superstar Davido is expanding his reach beyond music and into the world of innovative transportation. The Nigerian artist has teamed up with Spiro to launch his own line of electric motorcycles.
This new venture is more than just a business endeavor; it’s a way to support and empower the people who have played a key role in spreading his music across Africa.
With Africa’s workforce relying on over 27 million motorcycles, particularly the Bodaboda riders, who depend on bikes for their daily livelihoods, Davido sees this project as an opportunity to give back to the community that has helped elevate his career.
“These Bodaboda riders, who have been pushing my name and music across every city, are now at the heart of my vision. It’s time to give back,” Davido shared on Instagram.
Through his collaboration with Spiro, Davido is not just launching a product; he’s aiming to create a movement. “With my own line of electric bikes, in partnership with Spiro, we’re not just building a product—we’re building a movement,” he added.
Known for his hits like Unavailable and Assurance, Davido expressed his excitement about the project and its potential to drive significant change in the region. “This is more than a deal; it’s a statement.
It’s ownership, empowerment, and legacy in motion. Africa is not just catching up—we’re redefining what it means to lead. The future isn’t waiting for us—we’re driving straight into it,” he said.
Spiro, which already has over 22,000 electric bikes in use across countries like Uganda, Nigeria, Kenya, Rwanda, Togo, and Benin, is now expanding its reach to Tanzania.
The company’s innovative battery-swapping technology allows riders to quickly exchange their batteries at designated stations, eliminating long wait times for recharging and providing a more efficient solution for daily transportation.
